'NBC Nightly News' in St. Paul

Not only will the Hollywood stars of "A Prairie Home Companion" movie be in St. Paul on Wednesday, media stars will be here, too.

Brian Williams will be broadcasting "NBC Nightly News" live Wednesday from the Centennial Showboat on the Mississippi River with the St. Paul skyline in the background, according to a St. Paul city official.

All the hubbub is because of the local premiere of "Prairie Home," which was filmed at the Fitzgerald Theater in downtown St. Paul last summer. The private premiere will be at the Fitz Wednesday night.

The public can see stars from the movie riding in horse-drawn carriages from the St. Paul Hotel to the Fitz on Wabasha at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Look for "A Prairie Home Companion" writer Garrison Keillor, director Robert Altman, and actors Kevin Kline, Lindsay Lohan, Virginia Madsen, John C. Reilly, Meryl Streep and Lily Tomlin.
